Policy Re: Requests for Notice Filed by Out-of-State Attorneys
It is not necessary for an out-of-state attorney to seek admission in accordance with Local Rule 2090-1 (pro hac vice admission) in order to file a request for notice or notice of appearance, PROVIDED THAT the attorney is ONLY asking to receive copies of pleadings and notices in a bankruptcy case. If, however, such attorney files a pleading seeking substantive relief or responds to a pleading, it may be necessary to seek pro hac vice admission. In addition, attorneys are reminded to verify the bar admission status of any attorney they are sponsoring on a pro hac vice basis.
